The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is a British chartered accountancy body with a global presence in around 170 countries (in terms of students) that offers the Chartered Certified Accountant (Designatory letters ACCA or FCCA) qualification worldwide. It is one of the world's largest and fastest-growing accountancy bodies with 131,500 members and 362,000 affiliates. The Institute's headquarter is in London with the principal administrative office being based in Glasgow. In addition the ACCA has a network of nearly 80 staffed offices and other centres around the world.
The term 'Chartered' in ACCA qualification refers to the Royal Charter granted in 1974 by Her Majesty the Queen in the United Kingdom. Since Chartered Certified Accountant is a legally protected term, individuals who describe themselves as Chartered Certified Accountants must be members of ACCA and, if they carry out public practice engagements, must comply with additional regulations such as holding a practising certificate, being insured against any possible liability claims and submitting to inspections.
ACCA has accredited BTEC HND Accounting for exemption from six ACCA papers (F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, and F6) and all papers of CAT. BTEC HND Accounting programme is designed by BiMS and awarded by edexcel. Founded five years ago, BiMS is now only edexcel approved education organisation to offer BTEC HND Accounting worldwide.
Being a
listed tuition provider of ACCA, BiMS offers F7, F8 and F9 of ACCA Skills modules. The examinations of these papers are held at British Council, Bangladesh as per the schedule of ACCA.
What Support is Available?
Before You Apply
If you are thinking to get the tuition support provided by BiMS, please feel free to get in touch with a member of the OSS who would be happy to:
• meet with you and show you round our Campus so that you can build up a picture of what life is like for students at BiMS
• introduce you to academic staff who can offer advice on applying and provide information on courses and careers
• provide an advice session focusing on student finance and/or on other queries.
Before You EnterThe OSS runs an Induction Day for students, many of whom are unfamiliar with BiMS during Admission Week. This event is staffed by members of the OSS and students who are already studying at BiMS and who have completed the programme successfully. Besides offering valuable advice and the opportunity to develop some of the skills that students may require upon embarking on a course in higher education, the event also provides a great social opportunity for new students to get to know each other. Further follow-up support can then be arranged, if needed, by contacting the OSS once term has begun.
